Ancient Anasazi Beans
|
Item Number: 2TF2

Anasazi beans were once a staple food of the Anasazi Indians, dating back to the first century, AD. In the early 20th century, dried beans were found in an ancient Anasazi beanpot, in a cave in the four corners region. These original beans were grown, creating the crop we are eating today. Anasazi Beans have a similar flavor to Pinto beans. (They are believed to be an ancestor of todays modern pinto bean.)
Anasazi beans are high in fiber, low in cholesterol and are nutritionally very healthy. One of nature's perfect foods!
Grown by Trujillo Farm, in Nambe New Mexico.

Since we are in full lockdown here is Los Angeles.. We finally had time to cook these. We also made some rice... and had bought the fire roasted Hatch Green Chile. We used chicken stock (you can also use water) the flavor is wonderful.. We LOVE these beans - easy to make... and smells wonderful while they cook. Seasoning is in the bag.
